A small rambling about how I became a bookish lass, with a bookish blog.

It was early November when I applied to my local Barnes & Noble with a vague goal in mind. I was in this weird time in my life, after being kicked out of a writer's group for not reading any books-I wanted to see what was so good about 'em.
Needless to say; I didn't get the job.
It was a few days later when I sat in the cafe of the Barnes & Noble that rejected me, did the manager (now my favorite) sat down in front of me and offered me a position.
I wonder if he ever regrets it.
The Loneliest Girl In The Universe by Laura James
Barnes & Noble has this book loan program, and girl did I abuse it. I spent the next five months there just working and reading Juvenile books that looked interesting to me. After awhile, I tried moving onto YA books to improve my reading capabilities. Because, I probably should've mentioned but I only ever read two books in my entire lifespan prior to working there. (The Life & Death of Charlie St. Cloud / Married With Zombies) That being said, it was by chance did I learn about Owlcrate from a co-worker gathering.
It never left my mind, that word; Owlcrate. Finally, I looked it up and found what I now refer to as the Bookish Community. It was another co-worker that told me about bookstagram being a thing people do.
I signed up for Owlcrate for their June box, then went on Facebook to try and collect all the other books I was missing from their previous months. I learned that the YA authors were heavily involved with their readers thanks to that, as I happened to find out "pre-order swag" is a real thing publishers do. As well as the fans themselves make so many precious items based off their favorite books. I was in awe by it all.
Shortly after, I started a bookstagram, a few more months later I started writing very short and not well written reviews. Now finally, a whole year later, I volunteer to run the YA book clubs (a big deal considering I'm hella shy), signed up to post pictures on our B&N instagram, take notes while I'm reading so that I can write a proper book reviews on goodreads. Buy all the collector's editions of books even if my TBR pile is touching the ceiling because I rather regret not liking it after reading, than loving it after reading but not having the beautiful editions for retail price.
Ironically, thanks to reading books; I've been inspired to actually try.
So that brings me to now! Making a blog to sort out my bookish hobbies and nerdy thoughts! Personally, I want to take the time to thank everyone in the Bookish Community. I love all that you do! From the photos on Instagram, updates on Twitter, artwork on Tumblr, passion on Goodreads, I am so very glad to be apart of it all.
I hope you can support me in all my bookish endeavors!
